Following the successful completion of a 20MWac project in December 2015, Silicon Ranch and Green Power EMC announced a new 52MWac plant, also in Hazlehurst, which is currently under construction.

Silicon Ranch selected McCarthy Building Companies to build the facility. Silicon Ranch will own and operate the plant, which will provide cost competitive power to Green Power EMC for the next 30 years.

The 52 MW array will occupy nearly 500 acres, will include technology that allows the panels to track the sun from east to west, and will produce enough electricity to serve approximately 8,500 EMC households.

Hazlehurst II Continues Progress

Both projects represent a substantial commitment to renewable energy by the EMCs of Georgia
“Over 30 EMCs will share in the energy produced from these two facilities, providing renewable energy for a growing number of Georgians interested in this important technology. We are grateful for the support from our members and for the partnership we have developed with Silicon Ranch.”
